Newly built family home in Hertfordshire A 3,000 sq ft new-build in Hertfordshire, designed for a family who wanted the house to feel full of personality and depth despite starting with little architectural detail or character of its own. Selway Design Studio drew colour straight from the grounds beyond, bringing the green of the surrounding landscape into the home, while furnishings in the studio's signature style — mixing eras and layering old against new — build the depth the architecture alone couldn't provide. Natural materials warm the kitchen at the heart of the home, with every choice weighed against the existing architecture so nothing ever felt pastiche or out of place.
